Our thesis
Started with Bitcoin, this wave of innovation is beginning to produce viable products both for consumers and for enterprises. What the Internet did to the way we communicate will pale in comparison to the disruption coming in the way we exchange value, make agreements, and share sensitive information. As investors that foresaw and achieved stellar returns in the blockchain and cryptoasset markets of the past five years, we now see a new coming wave of internet applications poised to disrupt a host of traditional industries beyond financial services, such as supply chain, climate, and healthcare. A100x will stay laser-focused on the disruption that delivers real products, not those that promote or enable pure crypto-asset speculation.
What we invest in
A100x invests in companies that use frontier technology to solve real world problems outside of pure finance and speculation. This includes: supply chain solutions for provenance, tracking, and agreements; title management in the automobile industry, real estate, and other high-end property; healthcare in patient data management, vaccine passporting, and drug provenance; climate solutions in carbon trading and carbon tracking; key enabling infrastructure including security and hardware solutions, DevOps frameworks, programming environments, and cryptography.
Additionally, A100x will prefer solutions that generate social and environmental impact, as well as economic impact outside of speculation and gambling; and will strongly prefer diverse founding teams.
Areas of investment interest
We are looking for founders that use the technology to remove long-standing inefficiencies in their sectors, build soon-to-be-obvious products, solve difficult global problems that were untenable until recently; and who deliver unique approaches to complexity with elegance and simplicity, particularly in areas such as:
